Olotayan Island

A 30-minute pumpboat ride from Banica Terminal

 Roxas City. Crystal clear waters and multi-colored fishes;

beach is carpeted with tiny crushed shells called cascaho.

There is the daiving in Olotayan island…

Olotayan is a small island and one of the captiviting

beautiesthat can be found in the province in capiz.

I have been there in olotayan so many times when

I was in high school. I have friends that are residing

in punta cogon, which is near closer to Olotayan Island.

This is one of the beaches here in capiz province,

and I know every year there’s always been an improvement on this island.

In olotayan, you will witness the peaceful environment

and there’s no such electricity in that place.

 Historical Attractions

   Manuel Roxas Birthplace

Roxas- Located in the city proper, 2 storey hardwood and stone house

of First Philippine President Manuel Roxas, now a historical shrine.

Moro Towers

Sitio Nipa. Roxas City- Half-torn stone structures built

in 1814 to repel the invading Moros and Portuguese colonizers.

A river meanders across the town, cuts it at the heart and divides
it almost equally into two. Tributaries from the mountains flowed into
the head of Panay River through settlements formed along its shores,
irrigating and fertilizing the land to provide food to the people
. Following its course into the sea, it provides water to fishponds during high tide.
